We gets lots of questions from those of you new to Bermuda, new to parenthood in Bermuda and especially those of you thinking about moving to Bermuda with kids. We thought it might be helpful to share those questions and answers with everyone. So here goes...
1.
How can I become a member of
MAMA?
First of all, download the membership form.
Complete it and email it to
membership@mama.bm. The membership secretary can email you
directions for online payment or you can snail mail your form along with
your check to the address on the form. Our membership secretary will
send you a welcome packet that includes a new member guide, membership card,
membership directory, etc.
2.
Can MAMA help me find a nanny/daycare/babysitter/other childcare provider
for my child?
Not really. You can lookup registered providers on the government's
site at www.health.gov.bm. You
can also put an ad in the monthly newsletter, the Stroller, or even on our
Facebook group ("MAMA Bermuda").
3.
Can fathers join MAMA?
Of course! You can also select a membership that includes your nanny,
if she will be participating in events.
4.
I make/sell child-related merchandise. How can I put an ad in your
monthly newsletter?
You may submit your ad to stroller@mama.bm
before the 10th of the month (JPG format preferred). Our editor will
contact you about payment.
5.
How can I get more involved in
MAMA?
MAMA is entirely volunteer run and we are always looking for new volunteers.
We frequently need more contact moms, playgroup coordinators and other
positions. Email info@mama.bm to
learn more.
6.
I'm moving to Bermuda soon with my child. Is there someone I can talk
to about life in Bermuda with kids?
This question is one of the reasons we started our Facebook group ("MAMA
Bermuda"). Feel free to post your specific questions there and our
members can respond. You could even post a request to get together
with one of our members when you come for a visit - and join MAMA once you
get here to make new friends for you and your kids.
7.
Can you sell my used baby
items for me?
Sort of. Members can put a free ad in our newsletter's "Marketplace"
section, which includes posting for one month on our website. You
could also post something on our Facebook group ("MAMA Bermuda").
